The Front End Systems Technical Specialist is a Technical Leader for global Front & Rear End Systems Core engineering responsibilities for all regions including design reviews, design rule development and Sign off responsibility for critical engineering milestones. As a Technical Leader you will establish Front End Systems location strategies, coordinate and implement required actions to ensure a robust sign off to support our quality objectives as a company.

Here's what you'll do:
  • Technical Leader for exterior Front & Rear end System Integration including Fascia, Grille, GOR/Bolster, Fr/Rr Bumper, Front End Module, Low Speed Energy Management Devices, Active Shutters.
  • Lead the development of the front & rear end systems commodities through Studio Feasibility Checkpoints, FDJ, and product launch.
  • Coordinate and implement all the required actions to improve overall customer satisfaction as it relates to the product while maintaining an affordable business structure.
  • Drive the Product Development process (Design, Development, Validation, and Launch) of the front & rear end systems integration, achieving compliance of requirements (SDS, Design Rules, and Regulatory), managing attributes (package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, craftsmanship) and delivery of quality targets.
  • Establish Front End System locator strategy (lamps, fenders, hoods, fascia),
  • Sign off responsibility for critical engineering milestones UNx, UPx, FDJ, SCCAF, GD&T, PEC/FEC and PPAP.


You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in design and release of Exterior components
  • 5 years of front and rear end systems components experience including materials, manufacturing technologies, GD&T, and associated costs required.

Even better, you may have...
  • Master's degree in an engineering related field preferred.
  • Design & release of Fascias, Grilles, Low Speed Energy Absorbers, GOR, Low Speed Energy Management Practices/Regs (part 581, ECE42, RCAR, 15kph GDV, IIHS, etc.)
  • Pedestrian Protection requirements as they relate to design of front & rear end systems.
  • Design & release practices for aerodynamic component Active Shutters, Underbody Shields, Air Dam,
  • Front End Module System Integration
  • Understanding of GOR architecture and how it contributes to front end BIW stiffness.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and effectively communicate to management.
