Commitment: 5 recording days within a 2-week period
Overview
The Common Lives Project is a research initiative focused on gathering real-life video data to help develop advanced AI systems that better understand human daily activities and social interactions. Participants will wear GoPro cameras to record their typical routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Wear a GoPro camera to record daily activities for 5 days within 2 weeks (at least 7 hours per day).
- Upload the footage each day to a secure platform.
- Review and manage privacy for short clips you can delete, anonymize, or consent to each segment.
Requirements
Household:
- No minors (under 18) during recording.
- All adults must give written consent to appear.
- Must live in a private indoor space (home or workspace).
Participant:
- Works indoors, not customer-facing (e.g., not retail or childcare).
- Preferably does manual or creative work (chef, artist, carpenter, mechanic, etc.).
- Must be self-employed or have employer approval to record at work.
- Comfortable using a computer for video upload and review.
Technical:
- Requires computer + internet access.
- Training and GoPro equipment are provided.
