WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Product Group Leader, Engineering at Auburn Hills, MI for Pierburg US, LLC.

Oversee the engineering development activities of assigned Pierburg Products group within the engineering department. Build and oversee product team, develop and implement the product's strategy direction, and ensure team has the tools and systems needed to develop successful products. Monitor team workload. Identify training requirements and plans for individual team members. Develop product strategy for assigned product field (new and existing products) in alignment with the Business Unit and local Engineering Management. Act as Project Manager of Development on individual projects, including responsibility for all design and development related activities, both internally and with the customer. Prepare and conduct technical presentations. Lead all product development and validation activities, including but not limited to DFMEA, customer packaging review, 3D model and drawing creating, prototype builds, and DV/PV testing. Responsible for all technical program meetings with the customer. Approve technical results coming from central engineering functions. Prepare conceptual designs for new products. Follow internal guidelines and procedures according to IATF, AIAG, and customer-specific requirements for APQP. Hybrid work schedule available.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Required minimum qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field, and 1 year of Powertrain Product Development experience.

All qualifying experience must include:
  • high-level understanding of combustion engine processes and components;
  • demonstrated expertise in solid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials engineering;
  • high level use of CAD tools;
  • reading drawings;
  • the use of GD&T.
