Application Engineer (lab software solution)

Site based role in Spring House, PA (north of Philadelphia, PA)

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer to join our dynamic software business. This position calls for a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of Thermo Fisher software application functionality, and collaborating with other enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the customer's IT teams and Thermo Fisher product implementation teams to ensure accurate configuration, integration testing, and crucial fixing for the specified end-to-end customer workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Management
  • Responsible for configuring, testing, and customizing suites of inter-related software's for specific customer needs.
  • Lead all aspects of the development and implementation of software solutions within a customer environments.
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize applications.
  • Establishes mechanism with key internal collaborators to gather customer feedback during development and post-implementation

Internal Testing
  • Perform detailed testing of the coordinated software solutions to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the defined workflow across products.
  • Ensure individual products are configured correctly to accomplish the customer's workflow.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to software applications.
  • Provide timely support and solutions to internal teams and customers.
  • Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working within customer environments
  • Experience deploying, testing, configuring, and customizing software solutions, including some programming and/or scripting.
  • Pharma lab and IT experience highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software tools.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience with software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with resolving techniques and effective practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
