Senior Data Modeler

Job Description:

Pay Rate $85 hr - $90 hr

• The Senior Data Modeler will lead the design and implementation of data models for enterprise-scale data systems.
• The role involves collaboration with architecture and engineering teams to ensure scalable and high-performance data models that support analytics and business intelligence.
• The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data modeling, data governance, and modern data platforms..

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of logical, physical, and conceptual data models.
• CollaboXX with data architecture teams to build scalable models for reporting and analytics.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather data requirements and convert them into robust data models.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards.
• Optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability.
• Provide mentorship to junior data modelers and analysts.
• Define and enforce best practices and data modeling standards.
• Document data models, ERDs, data dictionaries, and schema definitions.
• Research and stay updated on emerging data modeling and database technologies.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Investment management domain knowledge.
• Experience implementing data models using Data Vault 2.0.
• 12+ years of experience in data modeling or related roles.

Skills:

• Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, Microsoft Visio).
• Strong SQL and NoSQL experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Hadoop.
• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Deep understanding of database design principles including normalization and dimensional modeling.
• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Familiarity with data privacy, security protocols, and governance frameworks.
• Ability to align data models with business goals and requirements.
