Job Title: Sr. IT Project Manager
Location: Fairfax, VA /Remote
About the role:
Cas Severn is looking to fill the position of Sr. Information Technology Project Manager. This role will be completed in a consulting format, servicing multiple customers and IT toolsets simultaneously. Employees in this position must work within general methods and procedures, driven by the CAS Severn PMO, and exercise considerable independent judgment to select proper courses of action.
This position requires knowledge of the policies, methods, and procedures of the fields of information technology and project management. Activities to be completed in this role follow the full breadth of the project management life cycle from project initiation to close, including change and risk management of live projects, and supporting potential follow-up opportunities.
What You Will Need:
- Project Manager will require customer service skills to enable continued development of customer relationships during and beyond the current project life cycle through consistent, thoughtful support and quality deliverables.
- Will require technical writing skills to enable valuable, accurate notes being shared with internal project resources and the end-customer.
- Coordinate or oversee the activities of other employees and contractors, when relevant.
- Skills facilitating communication between technical and non-technical resources are valued for this position.
- Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
- Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Responsible for development and management of project artifacts and the ongoing development of management processes for the organization.
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to project management methodologies.
- Create and execute project plan(s) and revise as appropriate to meet the changing needs and requirements.
- Minimize exposure and risk on project.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
- Conduct, Lead and Participate in project review meetings.
- Track and continuously improve project outcomes for assigned projects.
- Lead the organization through project(s) to define, design & develop, support and test the solution through the system development lifecycle when applicable.
Technical toolsets to be utilized in assigned projects include Microsoft/Office 365 services, cybersecurity suites, networking, VMware, Citrix and Nutanix virtualization platforms, Rubrik and Cohesity backup platforms, endpoint management toolsets (Kaseya, BigFix, KACE) and many more. Skillsets surrounding physical support of IT infrastructure are also valued for this position.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 7 years of IT project management experience.
- 5 to 7 years of experience interfacing and managing key business stakeholders, vendors, project resources; setting expectations and driving results around agreed timelines; experience giving senior level presentations via project exposure.
- Able to handle multiple projects at once (large, medium and, small scale).
- Experience working in a matrixed environment.
- IT customer service oriented.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor of Science
Project Management Certification a plus
Public Sector experience a plus.
