Job Description:
The Role We are seeking a Manual QA Engineer II to ensure the quality and reliability of our cloud-native healthcare platform. This role is ideal for detail-oriented testers who excel in exploratory testing, requirements analysis, and advocating for quality throughout the SDLC. You ll collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and automation engineers to deliver a seamless user experience while adhering to healthcare compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct manual testing of UI (React/TypeScript), APIs, and end-to-end workflows to identify defects and usability issues.
Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Perform exploratory testing, regression testing, and ad-hoc testing to uncover edge cases and improve test coverage.
Document and track defects with clear steps-to-reproduce in Jira or similar tools; work with developers to resolve issues.
Collaborate with automation engineers to identify high-impact test scenarios for automation and reduce redundant manual efforts.
Validate data integrity, security, and compliance with HIPAA/SOC 2 standards in healthcare workflows.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming) to provide QA input on user stories and acceptance criteria.
Advocate for Shift-Left Testing by reviewing requirements early and identifying gaps or ambiguities.
Qualifications
5+ years of manual QA/testing experience, preferably in web applications or cloud-native platforms.
Strong expertise in test case design, defect tracking, and requirement analysis.
Hands-on experience with:
o API testing (Postman, Swagger) and SQL for data validation.
o Web DevTools for debugging and browser compatibility testing.
o Jira, TestRail, or similar tools for test management.
Familiarity with React-based UIs and basic TypeScript/JavaScript (ability to read code is a plus).
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and how manual testing integrates into them.
Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance) is a plus but not required.
ISTQB certification or equivalent is a bonus
