Job Description:
Role: REMOTE Sr. Project Manager- Primavera P6
Location: REMOTE (Site Travel 2-3 times/yr.)
Type: Long Term Contract
Apex Systems, a Global Technology Services leader, is searching for a strategic Sr. Project Manager with experience overseeing construction work in large scale facility builds. This role is a long term contract and is fully REMOTE. A small amount of travel will be required (2-3 times /yr) to support the sites and build relationships with those you are working with. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and ProChain (PCE) tools to lead complex, cross-functional engineering projects. This role ensures timely delivery, resource optimization, and adherence to engineering standards using Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) and advanced scheduling methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Utilize Primavera P6 for advanced scheduling, resource leveling, baseline management, and risk mitigation, specifically working across with multiple construction general contractors to manage, report on and capture IT construction deliverables as GETS that drive ProChain managed IT work.
Apply ProChain CCPM principles to optimize schedules and manage constraints effectively.
Perform critical path analysis and integrate risk management strategies into project schedules.
Monitor project performance using KPIs, Earned Value Management (EVM), and provide detailed progress reports.
Generate advanced reports and dashboards (S-Curves, Gantt Charts) for stakeholders.
Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements and compliance standards are met.
Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using structured change control processes.
Facilitate communication between internal teams, vendors, general contractors, and clients.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
5+ years of experience in engineering project management.
Proven expertise in Primavera P6 (schedule development, baseline management, resource forecasting).
Hands-on experience with ProChain software and CCPM methodology.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret technical documentation.
PMP or CAPM certification required; Primavera P6 and ProChain certifications preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering Management, Project Management, or Business Administration.
Experience managing large-scale projects in construction or manufacturing.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure.
