Senior Linux / Unix Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is a client North of Salt Lake, UT seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Linux/Unix Administrator to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of Linux systems and applications across production and test environments. This role requires collaboration with Cyber Security and Security Operations teams to ensure systems are securely configured and compliant with industry standards.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Cyber Security and Security Operations teams to ensure systems are fully patched, securely configured, and compliant with industry standards and corporate configuration baselines
* Perform day-to-day administration and support of Linux systems and Linux-based applications with a focus on stability and uptime
* Promote new code and builds through the ecosystem using standardized testing and elevation procedures
* Coordinate within the team, department, and organization to ensure seamless operations
* Assist with other IT functions as needed
* Ensure effective backups are made and tested regularly
* Stay informed of changes in computer technology and apply relevant updates
* Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organized work area
* Complete special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
* LPIC-1: Linux Administrator or CompTIA Linux certification preferred
* Minimum of 7+ years of experience in server administration across various applications
* Extensive experience with Linux OS administration, including x86 environments
* Proven experience managing clustered and load-balanced environments, especially for mission-critical applications across multiple sites
* Certificate management experience is required
* Hands-on experience with Ansible scripting and playbooks for automation (other scripting/automation experience also considered)
* Experience managing Network Load Balancers in production environments
* Experience with Z systems, IBM Power Systems, and AIX is preferred
* Proficiency in bash and Python for server task automation
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement technology projects
* Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
* Ability to stay current with industry's best practices and apply them to existing systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
