Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (SDET - Backend with Healthcare Domain Experience)

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain complex enterprise software solutions that support mission-critical applications. This role requires hands-on expertise in backend testing (ETL/SQL), automation, and healthcare systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and contribute to system architecture, performance, and scalability initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development & Testing (25%)

    • Design, code, test, and document enterprise applications.

    • Act as SME in enhancing and maintaining existing software systems.

    • Ensure compliance with coding standards, DevOps practices, and quality policies.

    • Deliver scalable solutions supporting large user bases.

  • Analysis & Design (25%)

    • Gather and analyze requirements, use cases, and system specifications.

    • Implement and document source code as per design specs.

    • Develop and execute automated unit and functional tests.

    • Evaluate and report software testing results.

  • Enterprise Solutions & Maintenance (25%)

    • Build and support software solutions across enterprise environments.

    • Analyze and implement functional & non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, availability).

    • Conduct operations & maintenance (O&M) of existing systems.

    • Identify process improvement opportunities and streamline workflows.

  • Technical Leadership & Support (25%)

    • Provide Tier-3 support for critical application incidents.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders on product roadmaps and architecture.

    • Research and recommend emerging technologies for adoption.

    • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • In lieu of degree: 4 additional years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in software development, architecture, and systems integration.

  • Must have: Backend SDET experience with ETL/SQL automation and healthcare domain expertise.

  • Nice to have: GenAI project experience.


Technical Skills

  • Programming: JavaScript, C, Python (or equivalent).

  • Databases: SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cloud DBs.

  • Cloud: AWS, Azure.

  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

  • Test Practices: TDD, BDD, Continuous Testing.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps pipelines.

  • Knowledge of code quality, promotion, and release management practices.


Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.

  • Effective at building relationships across all levels.
