Platform Systems Manufacturing Engineer

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated Platform Systems Manufacturing Engineer to support the Air Dominance Platform Systems organization located in St. Louis, MO.
Boeing Air Dominance products support the vital missions of defense forces around the world and provide protection and relief in a constantly changing geopolitical environment. With more than 70 years of leadership in fixed wing technology.

This position offers an opportunity to support these platforms and the following systems (Armament, Crew System/Escape, ECS, Electrical, Equipment Install, Fuel, Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Mechanisms, and Thermodynamics). These platforms support customers including the US Air Force, US Navy, and international customers. Position Responsibilities:
- Supports the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.
- Participates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
- Supports the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.
- Participates in the implementation of manufacturing plans and investigates technical problems.
- Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies. Interfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 2+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and summarizing findings, then subsequently developing conclusions and making recommendations from appropriate data sources
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Experience with aerospace build plan knowledge, experience with entire value stream of detail part to assembly integration value stream.
- Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems.
- Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
