Role: Business Data Analyst
Location: Newton, NC (Remote)
Note: Only on W2
Must have experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, with at least 3-4 years in the Healthcare or Senior Care domain.
Key Responsibilities
· Gather and document detailed business requirements by working closely with stakeholders from clinical, HR, financial, and compliance teams.
· Analyse and understand operational workflows in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) or Assisted Living and map them to relevant data sources.
· Create clear and detailed BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and data mapping specifications.
· Collaborate with data modellers and engineers to support the design of both Silver (3NF) and Gold (Dimensional) layer data models.
· Define and validate key metrics, KPIs, and dimensions required for regulatory, performance, and clinical reporting.
· Perform data profiling and analysis using SQL and tools like Excel or Power BI to validate data availability and quality.
· Support UAT, testing, and data quality checks to ensure that delivered solutions align with business expectations.
· Participate in and support data stewardship workflows, ensuring proper business ownership and governance of data elements.
Must-Have Skills
· 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, with at least 2–3 years in the Healthcare or Senior Care domain.
· Strong knowledge of EHR systems, resident care workflows, staffing models, and compliance/reporting needs.
· Experience writing BRDs, functional specs, and data mapping documents.
· Hands-on experience with SQL for basic to intermediate data analysis and validation.
· Understanding of data warehousing concepts, KPIs, and reporting requirements in care delivery settings.
· Knowledge of Power BI, Excel charts, or other visualization tools.
· Excellent communication skills to engage with business and technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Skills
· Exposure to Medallion architecture or layered data platform environments.
· Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, Open HR data standards.
· Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines.
· Awareness of data governance and master data management concepts.
