Product Owner Culver City, CA 12+ Month Contract with Possible extension

Job Description:
We re seeking an experienced Product Owner with a deep understanding of the Media & Entertainment industry, particularly those who have worked within production environments and streaming platforms. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring a sense of urgency and the ability to problem-solve on the fly often within hours, not days. You ll work across multiple, simultaneous efforts, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and production teams to deliver critical solutions supporting live productions and operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Product Owner for production and media operations tools and platforms.
Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage product backlogs for multiple concurrent efforts.
Bring a strong sense of urgency, understanding how productions function and responding quickly to shifting needs.
Operate within an Agile framework, not just participating in ceremonies but actively driving conversations, challenging assumptions, and promoting a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
Engage with a variety of production and operational stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and delivery of critical functionality.
Foster a collaborative, transparent, and professional working environment, contributing positively to team culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Product Management or Product Owner roles within the Media & Entertainment industry. (Candidates with pure BSA backgrounds will not be considered.)
Experience in writing user stories and managing product backlogs.
Proven experience supporting production environments or streaming companies (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.)
Deep familiarity with the production lifecycle and the fast-paced decision-making required in that environment.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies with the ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and facilitate meaningful discussions.
Agile certification (CSM or equivalent) required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous efforts across different teams and productions.

Preferred Background:
Direct experience in streaming media companies is highly desirable.
Experience working in production support roles with exposure to tight deadlines and rapidly evolving requirements.
Previous tenure at major streaming platforms or studios is a significant advantage
