Location: Jackson, MS 39213 (Hybrid up to 2 weeks/Month Onsite)

Note: Hybrid -Minimum 2 weeks per month onsite required.

Project:

  • Client is seeking an Independent Senior IT Consultant to support the ReEmploy Modernization Program. This senior-level role will provide independent oversight, governance, and advisory services to ensure IT systems, policies, and controls align with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • This position requires strong autonomy, executive-level communication skills, and deep experience in IT governance, compliance, and risk management within large public-sector environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure IT practices align with internal governance, policies, and regulatory standards
  • Provide objective, third-party assessments to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Identify legal, regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance risks (State & Federal)
  • Evaluate IT policies for legal soundness, effectiveness, and real-world implementation
  • Translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical leadership
  • Deliver prioritized remediation roadmaps across technology, policy, and compliance
  • Support cost avoidance by identifying outdated, redundant, or non-compliant systems
  • Improve long-term efficiency through best-practice adoption and risk-based decision making

Skills:

  • Deep expertise in IT, Finance, and HR systems
  • Strong background in IT governance, oversight, and compliance
  • Proven ability to analyze complex business and technical problems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills
  • Experience delivering independent assessments and advisory engagements
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Expertise in Project Management, Agile, SDLC, DevOps, QA, and Financial Analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years with large management or consulting firms
  • 10+ years delivering advisory or consulting services
  • 5+ years supporting state agencies
  • 10+ years in IT oversight or governance roles
  • Prior experience with the Department of Labor
