Job Details

CFD Research is seeking a highly qualified RF Engineer, supporting the Hypersonic-Electromagnetic Interactions Group. As an RF Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our research efforts focused on designing and characterizing next generation antennas for high-speed systems. The candidate should have a strong technical background, as well as a desire to develop and commercialize innovative technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experts, engage in groundbreaking research projects, and contribute to the advancement of next-generation RF devices.

Responsibilities:
u2022 Support development of antenna hardware design for integration into high-speed vehicles
u2022 Modeling & simulation of antenna design and system, link-budget analysis
u2022 EMI/ EMC simulation and analysis
u2022 Collaboration with GNC, aerothermal and structural engineers

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience in antenna simulations and antenna system hardware design, link-budget analysis
  • Experience in EMI/EMC simulation and analysis
  • Proficiency in Ansys HFSS, and/or CREATE RF SENTRi, and/or FEKO
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Ability to work on multiple projects as needed
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in team environments
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Desired Qualifications:
  • BS and 5+ years of work experience or higher degree with demonstrated work experience.
  • An active secret security clearance or higher is a plus
  • If no previous experience in HFSS, or CREATE RF SENTRi, or FEKO is present, ability to rapidly learn these tools is needed
  • Expertise with computational electromagnetics associated with RCS signatures of complex objects
  • Familiarity with RCS prediction models (e.g. Xpatch, NEC)
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to devise creative hardware design solutions
  • Ability provide recommendations to technical decisions

Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is onsite.
