What You Will Do:
The Reliability Engineering Manager role here at Johnson Controls, is a unique opportunity to grow a topflight reliability program from the ground up. The role will be based at the Johnson Controls Advanced Development and Engineering Center (JADEC) near York, PA and will report directly to the Vice President Global Engineering HVACR. This leader will develop and deploy a reliability program, focused on our Americas Data Center business with initial focus on Chiller products followed swiftly by out Silent Aire product segments.

How You Will Do It:
- Champion creation of Reliability Plan activities and drive execution to demonstrate reliability and improve risk mitigation.
- Partner with various engineering group, operations teams and Supplier Management organizations to deploy Reliability Engineering principles to meet customer needs.
- Oversee a dedicated team of reliability professionals to deliver reliability subject matter expertise during new product development to set and achieve reliability objectives aligned to customer expectations and use cases.
- Develop detailed reliability test plans and approve test reports.
- Enable reliability assessment at the component level to aide in the development of preventive maintenance plans for customers as well as achieving product reliability objectives.
- Oversee the data analytics for our commissioning and field service reports with the goal of identifying emerging and high-risk failures and driving projects for improvement.
- Develop robust working relationships with Mission Critical Services with the goal to drive improvements and maximize revenue.
What We Look For:
Required
- Exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency, and comfortability making recommendations across broad teams.
- 10+ years' experience within a reliability engineering and new product development Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other related technical discipline.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) unless Masters or Ph.D. in Reliability.
- Experience in Accelerated Life Testing and Reliability Demonstration Testing.
- Experience working with New Product Launches / Project Management.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other related technical discipline.
- Experience in establishing reliability engineering principles within organizations.
- Familiarity with reading/Interpreting Engineering drawings and understanding GD&T, CAD software.
- Reliability experience in Electro-mechanical industries like HVAC, Appliance, Automotive, Electrical Motors, etc. is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize reliability and statistical tools (life data analysis Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++, FMEA, Etc...)
- Certified Six Sigma practitioner is added advantage.
