Job Title: Product Owner / Business Analyst
Location: McLean, VA
Employment Type: Contract
We are seeking a Product Owner/Business Analyst. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, agile teams, and IT to deliver solutions that align with enterprise goals in loan origination, servicing, or capital markets. The ideal candidate combines deep domain expertise with agile execution, ensuring compliance with Client guidelines and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritize product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Agile/SAFe environments
- Analyze and optimize financial workflows (loan origination, underwriting, securitization)
- Document current/future state processes using BPMN, UML, or similar methodologies
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Ensure solutions comply with financial regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with architects on system integrations and data flows
- Present recommendations to leadership through clear documentation and presentations
Required:
- 5+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in financial services
- Deep knowledge of mortgage banking operations and capital markets
- Experience with mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and loan lifecycle management
- Proficiency in Agile tools (JIRA, ADO), SQL, and business process modeling
- Strong analytical skills with relevant certifications (CBAP, CSPO, SAFe preferred)
