Worldwide Technology is looking for a GO / Golang Developer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Title: Datacenter Engineer

Location: Onsite 5 days a week- Dallas Fort Worth Metro

Duration: 6 month contract

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $50 to $60 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Summary: Datacenter Engineer Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Datacenter Engineer to join our team. As a Datacenter Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our datacenter infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise in system administration and telecom experience will be invaluable in supporting our critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack servers, switches, routers, and other hardware in clients data center environments.
  • Perform Smart Hands support, including equipment swaps, power cycling, patch cable installation, labeling, and troubleshooting under remote engineer direction.
  • Cabling management install and organize structured cabling (fiber and copper), ensuring accuracy, performance, and documentation compliance.
  • Conduct equipment inventory, shipping/receiving, and asset tracking within their data center asset management systems.
  • Assist network and systems engineers remotely with hardware diagnostics, LED status checks, and console port access.
  • Perform site readiness checks, rack layout verification, and environmental inspections (power, cooling, grounding, and safety compliance).
  • Document installation and maintenance activities according to their internal processes and update tickets within ServiceNow or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with vendors and field teams to ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of equipment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations or field support (rack/stack, cabling, or Smart Hands work).
  • Strong understanding of network and server hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HP, etc.).
  • Proficiency with fiber optic and Ethernet cabling standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work in data center environments (raised floors, confined spaces, etc.).
