Security Analyst COOP / Disaster Recovery :
Job Summary:
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Security Analyst to lead efforts in developing and enhancing the agency s Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) programs. This role involves working closely with the Information Security Manager and Network Supervisor to ensure the agency's systems are compliant, resilient, and prepared for potential disruptions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT security, policy development, and risk management, with specific experience in drafting disaster recovery and continuity plans, conducting tabletop exercises, and aligning organizational policies with state and federal mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance FDLE's COOP, DR, and Risk Management programs, plans, and processes in coordination with leadership.
Conduct research and interpret regulatory mandates, including FBI CJIS Security Policy and state IT security regulations.
Draft clear and actionable policies and procedures to meet compliance and security objectives.
Lead interviews, workshops, and information-gathering sessions with stakeholders.
Organize and lead tabletop exercises related to COOP, DR, and risk preparedness.
Provide support and training to staff on COOP and DR best practices.
Assist in knowledge transfer and documentation for long-term sustainability.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including architecture design, software development, database management, or systems integration in multi-platform environments.
Demonstrated experience in:
Drafting policies and technical documentation.
Creating and managing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Leading information gathering sessions and conducting technical tabletop exercises.
Estimated Period of Engagement:
Start Date: October 1, 2025
End Date: June 30, 2026
Renewal: One-year option available (not automatic; subject to approval and funding)
