We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career in the field of metallurgy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet the high-quality standards that our customers expect from us. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create AIAG/APQP documentation for new program launches.
  • Manage supplier PPAP and Production Validation runs.
  • Issue/follow up on corrective action request.
  • Utilize problem solving and mistake proofing tools to correct/prevent defective material.
  • Ability to interface with customer SQE.
  • Thorough understanding of customer quality requirements and ability to effectively communicate them to team members.
  • Process auditing to ensure compliance with developed controls and methodologies.
  • NDT techniques such as radiographic inspection of internal structures of castings.
  • Chemistry and microstructure analysis.
  • Responsible for following company and OSHA required safety procedures and practices.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to quickly learn all aspects of the quality department.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
3. In-depth knowledge of metallurgy and materials science.
4. Proficiency in statistical analysis and statistical quality control.
5. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and software.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
10. Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar would be an advantage.
11. Knowledge of IATf 16949 / AS 9100 standards.
12. Blueprint reading and GD&T experience.
