Project Manager Project Lead
Project Duration: 3 Months
Work Location: Charleston, South Carolina (On-site)
Hours/Week: 20 Hours
Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
Scope of the Role
As a Project Lead/Manager, you ll work directly with the PMO to drive successful delivery of key IT initiatives across the institution. You will shape how we plan, manage, and deliver value from complex projects in service to the College s mission and stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to closure using standardized PMO methodologies.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- Track project milestones and report status via dashboards and executive summaries.
- Proactively identify risks and dependencies, and ensure effective resolution of blockers.
- Facilitate communication and engagement between stakeholders across departments.
- Coach teams in Agile practices, support sprint planning, and foster continuous improvement.
- Assist with other duties or special initiatives within the PMO or broader IT division as assigned.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred Exposure)
- ServiceNow platform experience
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.)
Required Skills (Ranked):
- Minimum 3+ years working with Business Analysts
- Experience in project management of technical and/or IT projects
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Skills (Ranked):
- Product Owner or Agile delivery experience
- Experience working with Kanban or Agile frameworks
- ServiceNow project or ticketing workflows
- Exposure to Data Analyst or Data Science teams
- Previous experience in a technical role (e.g., programmer, analyst)
Education & Certifications
Required:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience
OR 9+ years of experience with no degree
Preferred:
- PMI-ACP or other Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster CSM)
- Any additional PMI credentials
