Job Description:

• Client is seeking a Senior Java Developer for its Bank technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
• Serves as the primary point of contact on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance team members.
• Applies specialized business knowledge and technical skills to significant deliverables and projects that involve multiple IT departments, business units and have enterprise impact.
• Makes judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.
• Handles complex problems independently and demonstrates analytical thinking. Although the role is primarily based out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL. we are also open to considering candidates that are based out of other locations in the US.

Experience and Skills:

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience or combination of education, training and experience.
• Financial Services experience preferred.

Experience in the following areas:

• Application development, change management.
• May occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

Technical Skills:

• Five (5) years of full stack development experience in Java, J2EE with working knowledge of Spring, ORM (Hibernate preferred), Spring Boot, cache implementations.
• Five (5) years of experience writing Java, UI and Database queries in PL/SQL, Functions, on Oracle.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins, DevOps, Spring Boot, Java REST and SOAP API, Angular UI, JavaScript, CSS.
• need strong Java EE application development experience, using Java v 11 and SOAP / REST APIs. this is a senior app dev role.
• Need Spring Boot / Spring Framework, Hibernate and some devops based skill sets such as Jenkins
• role is for hybrid only so need local candidates for RJ St Pete location, manager hopes to convert to an FTE if performance is strong
• role is primarily backend development with a mix of new development (features) and some support work, enhancements, etc.
• Any ORM experience is a valuer add. And prior FS domain experience is a plus a well
• Bachelor s degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant development or engineering experience or combination of education, training, and experience.

NOTES from hiring manager:

• Role is for local to work hybrid onsite minimum 2 days per week at RJ Bank in St Pete, no fully remote options
• Need strong core Java, REST/SOAP, Spring Boot, etc. Mainly backend work needs strong SDLC and Java Services experience
• Role has a chance to extend on contract based on performance and could go FTE down the road for right candidate
