Location: 100% Remote - must be based within the US

Duration: 12 month initial contract with the opportunity for extension and/or conversion to full-time employment if candidates are interested.

We are seeking an experienced Senior RPG/AS400 Architect with a proven track record in RPG programming and AS/400 systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust applications that drive our business forward, particularly during critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes. You ll collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and other IT professionals to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. This position is ideal for a proactive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to continuous improvement.

Required:

  • Extensive experience in RPG programming and AS/400 systems.

  • Strong knowledge of business processes.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and maintain robust RPG-based applications that align with business requirements.

  • Develop and enhance existing applications to ensure high performance, availability, and reliability.

  • Implement and manage security protocols to protect applications and sensitive data.

  • Collaborate with business analysts to define technical specifications and implementation strategies.

  • Conduct system testing and participate in quality assurance processes to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and provide ongoing support for existing applications.

  • Optimize code and database interactions to improve application performance.

  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate RPG applications with other systems and technologies.
