Splunk Engineer, Lead
The Opportunity:

Serve as a cybersecurity systems engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining a distributed security architecture in support of critical missions. Develop, implement, and integrate enterprise, cybersecurity operations center, and endpoint security solutions in alignment with best practices and mission objectives. Maintain awareness of market and technology trends to bring new and best-of-breed solutions to the client. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to advance mission requirements.

On our team, you'll be part of a team as they troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of network and security devices and applications. You'll manage the research of technology and market trends to further develop security solutions.

Using your expertise focused on Splunk along with other cyber security tools, like HBSS/Trellix EDR, Nessus, FirePower, FireEye, or Palo Alto FW, you'll assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. You will work under limited supervision and apply extensive knowledge for a wide range of IA concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of all enclave systems. You'll work independently or lead and direct others and solve IA problems quickly and completely. You will develop and implement security solutions in alignment with security strategy. You'll maintain an awareness of market and technology trends to bring best-of-breed solutions to the client.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • Experience with deploying, maintaining, or integrating using cybersecurity tools and applications, including Splunk, Elastic, ACAS/Tenable Nessus, Cisco FirePower, FireEye NX, Tanium, or Cylance
  • Ability to integrate cybersecurity engineering principles into infrastructure planning, design, and deployment
  • Ability to meet schedule, performance, and quality within the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to support control consistency, integrity monitoring, and health checks of the operating system and applications
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint security, or digital forensics
  • Experience with system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, or engineering management
  • Knowledge of security architecture design and integration
  • Master's degree
  • Splunk Administrator Certification


Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
