Primary Location: Remote
V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an Engineering - Project Manager - Engineering 3 (Remote) for our premier client.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Telecom Network Infrastructure environment.
- Able to use any generic office software.
- Minimum of five years in a project management or project support capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or related technical experience.
- Experience with understanding vendor contractual deliverables.
- Experienced with Exfo Fast Reporter software analysis tool.
- Additional languages are a definite asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge:
- Project management and strong organizational competence.
- Able to understand and interpret: OTDR, CD/PMD, OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set) and CMAX traces and files.
- Able to describe the details, structure, and layout of ISP and OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Networks.
- Advanced use experience with Fast Reporter 2 or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ISP and OSP infrastructure.
Communication:
- High level analytical skills.
- Effectively present to team meetings both written and orally.
- Identify issues and enact resolutions effectively.
- Assist deployed teams in fiber and wave issue resolution.
- Multi-task effectively and maintain project deadlines.
- Interface with vendors and develop issue remediation protocols.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate typical optical fiber analysis test equipment (OTDR and CD/PMD testing, laser source/power meter (insertion loss) testing.
- Understand and fully interpret Chromatic Dispersion and Polarization Mode Dispersion data.
- Fully identify ISP and OSP fiber issues and provide resolution advice.
- Understanding of various fiber types and their inherent characteristics.
- Splicing techniques and inherent characteristics.
- Understanding and has high working knowledge of EXFO Toolbox used in the analysis of fibre test data or similar software applications.
- Understanding and has high working knowledge of Exfo Fast Reporter software or similar software applications.
