Middle Tier Specialist

Role: Middle Tier Specialist

Note: candidates meet the residency requirements (Last 5 years in the US with no more than 6 months out of the country).

List of tasks to be performed:

• Support USPS implemented middle tier technologies on Windows and Linux servers, including web and application servers, containers and container management technologies, messaging technologies, cloud platform and services, automation tools, scripting languages and monitoring tools. Current technologies in use include Apache Tomcat, WildFly, Oracle Fusion Middle Tier (OFM), IBM WebSphere, Apache HTTP, Kubernetes, Docker and other types of containers, IBM MQ, Kafka, Zookeeper, RedHat OpenShift, Rancher, Ansible, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Linux shell scripting, Microsoft PowerShell, JYTHON, AppDynamics, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Neustar and Splunk.

• Schedule and deploy middle tier services or middle tier components, patches or service pack releases, using Ansible, other automation tools, or manually as required.
• Build, upgrade, configure middle tier service with proper documented security settings.
• Recommends and takes action to improve processes.
• Perform any necessary testing of installing or updating software/configuration files according to the requested action following the USPS Program Team s approval.
• Use system management tools to monitor, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Provide project plans,reports, and presentations using Microsoft suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.).

Required Experience Level:

Minimum of 5-7 years experience, in middle tier administration or server management preferred

Educational Requirements:

A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.

NOTE: If resource does not have a relavant college degree, an additional 4 years of relavant work experience is required.
