BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Technical Project Manager for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's deployment of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system, Sentinel.

This position directly supports the Sentinel Program's Sentinel Deployment Office (SDO) in their mission to provide strategic planning and analyses that support a seamless, safe, secure, and effective Transition from the Minuteman III weapon system to Sentinel. Applicants must be highly motivated, driven and able to thrive with minimal supervision.

Duties include providing expert advice and support to Sentinel leaders on all areas that may impact ICBM Transition. Areas may include actions from strategic planning to tactical action to transform support facilities, hardware, software, personnel, policies, training, security, contracts, budget, technology, and operational capability necessary to deactivate Minuteman III and simultaneously deploy Sentinel while meeting warfighter mission-in-execution requirements. This position requires you to interact on a regular basis with individuals from throughout the Sentinel Program Office--strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly are highly desired.

Specifically, you will be responsible for
  • Supporting our government customer in the review and assessment of the Sentinel prime contractor's deployment plans, documentation, and other products to meet acquisition requirements and timelines. These reviews and assessments will assure senior leaders that the transition and deployment activities of the Sentinel weapon system are on-track to meet the warfighter's needs.
  • You will lead weapon system deployment focused events, together with government customer oversight, that gauge every aspect of the Sentinel program and ensure this data in captured, compiled, and assessed for accuracy and applicability.
  • You will collaborate with other contractor program and project managers, subject matter experts, and modeling teams to deliver timely assessments and recommendations for time-certain deployment accomplishment criteria.
  • As the deployment event lead, you will also be responsible for assisting the government customer with prioritizing and scheduling deployment focused events on a regular and reoccurring cadence that constantly refines the baseline information to further increase deployment corporate knowledge and inform stakeholders of interdependencies.
Our team provides expertise on both the Minuteman III and Sentinel weapon systems concepts of operation, modeling, and simulation; and works to identify and mitigate risks to ICBM Transition cost, schedule, and performance, as well as opportunities to capitalize upon. Duties also include evaluation of programmatic schedule activities impacting ICBM Transition/schedules/roadmaps, working to identify linkages and dependencies across Transition stakeholders, and developing/tracking ICBM Transition metrics.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive technical experience in leadership, execution, and project management.
  • Must have at minimum an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in operations, sustainment, maintenance, or acquisition of a Department of Defense weapon system.
  • Must have current (within last 6 years) Secret security clearance or higher and be able to obtain Top Secret and SAP clearances within reasonable timeframe.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency using office software such as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is highly desirable. Familiarity with or willingness to rapidly learn, schedule, management programs such as Primavera or Microsoft Project is desired.
  • Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communications skills in addition to sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with customer and company personnel.
  • Relevant experience with ICBM operations, maintenance, support, sustainment, or acquisition capabilities gained at an ICBM Wing, an ICBM Program Office, MAJCOM, Combatant Command and/or Joint Staff/OSD levels is desired.
