Job Summary:
As a Cloud Engineer & Generative AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Avangrid, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure to support cutting-edge Generative AI applications. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with data scientists and AI researchers to deploy and optimize AI models, ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based AI systems.
You will utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management. Your technical leadership and mentorship will guide team members on cloud and AI-related projects, while your problem-solving skills will help troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment.
Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AWS, Azure, and Generative AI, you will apply this knowledge to continuously improve our systems. Your documentation of best practices, processes, and procedures will ensure smooth cloud and AI operations.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members on cloud and AI-related projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AWS, Azure, and Generative AI, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment on AWS and Azure.
- Document best practices, processes, and procedures for cloud and AI operations.
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of related experience. 5 years preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in machine learning (ML) and AI models.
- Expertise in Generative AI, including experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications in AWS and Azure technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in vector databases and their application within the GenAI framework.
- Desirable knowledge of AI Agents through orchestrators.
- Desirable knowledge of frameworks such as Langchain, Semantic Kernel, Spring AI.
