The IT Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the technology driven initiatives for multiple enterprise lines of business. You will be responsible for ensuring that initiatives are completed within schedule, budget, and scope, while meeting all quality standards.

The role includes collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to successfully complete the enterprise strategic objectives. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to navigate competing initiative priorities.

Skills include a strong background in program management, with a proven track record in delivering complex IT initiatives on time and within budget. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
This person will:

Manage interactions with internal and external auditors as required from an information perspective
Responsible and accountable for the stability, performance, production, compliance, roadmap strategy and development initiatives for each application in the portfolio
Facilitate joint planning with business partners in the early stages of project formation
Key voice to the business on the application, roadmap initiatives, annual initiative planning, escalation point for the business development/project related issues
Support IT and Business 3-5 year roadmap strategies ensuring application development and initiatives align to these strategies
Participate in feasibility studies and proposals on strategic initiatives
Lead, coach and develop highly skilled and diverse IT professionals
Advocates for business stakeholders in IT forums
Provides governance & oversight of projects/programs to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope, and budget
Responsible for the planning and on boarding of projects and programs
Maintains and communicates overall portfolio financials
Responsible for maximizing resource allocation based on resource availability and prioritized projects
Champions strong IT governance in the management framework and mentors project managers in its development and continuous improvement
Oversees the production of management documents (Project Charter, Requirements, Epics, Stories etc.)
Provide consulting services to business partners on new initiatives (medium to large of varying complexity)
Oversees the management of project closure initiatives

Requirements:

Education
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related (Preferred)

Experience:
  • 7-10 years Project and Program Management with medium to large enterprise portfolios (Required).
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of systems development & project delivery methodologies. Leadership position in dynamic/complex environment.
  • Ability to identify the programs critical path issues and manage them effectively to resolution.
  • 10+ years ability to work effectively with senior staff and teams (Preferred)
  • Ability to identify the programs critical path issues and manage them effectively to resolution (Preferred).
  • Experience with PMO organizational structures including PMO best practices and Management of PMO teams (Preferred).
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams (Preferred).
