Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer to manage and support our Confluent Kafka infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, securing, and scaling Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Deploy, configure, and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters in production environments.
Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning with minimal downtime.
Manage authentication, authorization, and access controls for secure platform operations.
Monitor cluster performance and health using Prometheus and Grafana.
Troubleshoot and resolve cluster-related issues (broker outages, replication lag, etc.).
Automate recurring operational tasks using Python or Bash scripts.
Collaborate with teams to support product expansion and ensure platform scalability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of Kafka administration experience (Confluent Kafka preferred).
Strong expertise in Kafka upgrades, configuration, and production troubleshooting.
Solid background in Linux system administration.
Scripting proficiency in Python and/or Bash.
Working knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for observability.
Confluent Kafka certification is a plus.
