Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Milford, MI) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

The Calibration Engineer is an Individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and deliverables throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle including requirements definition, calibration design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution.

What You'll Do
  • Follow documented procedures to calibrate systems to meet product goals, and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Support requirements development with other activities
  • Support root cause analysis
  • Ability to efficiently capture and analyze empirical data.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Identify and document calibration vulnerabilities; track corrective actions
  • The area of calibration responsibility could include:
    • Engine Position/Timing
    • Serial Data & Platform Interface
    • Electronic Throttle Control
    • Engine Torque Security
    • Fuel System Diagnostics
    • O2 Sensor/Catalyst Diagnostics
    • Engine Thermal Control

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Engineering degree
  • 2+ years of technical and/or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis on complex problems
  • Some knowledge of powertrain systems
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate test vehicles
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with in-vehicle testing
  • Experience INCA/ETAS data acquisition
  • Automotive OEM experience
