Job Title: Lead QA with Playwright, Cypress, & Appium

Location: Washington DC (Hybrid, 4 days onsite a week)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Advanced proficiency in automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, and Appium & Linkedin created before 2018.

Locals are preferred from Washington DC.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures.

Oversee the testing of software applications to ensure they meet quality standards.

Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects.

Utilize automation tools, including but not limited to Playwright, to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.

Mentor and guide junior QA team members.

Qualifications:

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive quality assurance processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives.


• Oversee the testing of software applications, web platforms, and mobile interfaces to ensure robust functionality, reliability, and compliance with standards.


• Collaborate closely with development, product, and operations teams to identify, document, and resolve defects throughout the software development lifecycle.


• Utilize a wide array of automation tools, including but not limited to Playwright, Selenium, and Cypress, to optimize testing efficiency, increase coverage, and accelerate release cycles.


• Mentor and coach junior QA team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into actionable test cases.


• Thorough understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and QA best practices.


• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining test plans, test scripts, and defect tracking systems.


• Familiarity with test management platforms (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).


• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with proven experience working in cross-functional and distributed teams.


• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and standards (ISO, GDPR, PCI DSS) as they pertain to software quality and security.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience in agile development environments and participation in sprint planning and review sessions.


• Expertise in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.


• Proficiency in performance, load, and stress testing using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.


• Knowledge of security testing, vulnerability assessment, and remediation strategies.


• Experience with API testing tools, such as Postman and SoapUI.


• Strong scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for test automation.


• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and testing cloud-based applications.


• Ability to lead risk analysis and recommend improvements in QA processes and standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 12 years of experience in quality assurance, with demonstrated expertise in automated and manual testing methodologies.
