Overview

Provide excellent customer service and technical support in performing software installations, modifications, upgrades, troubleshooting, and TAC support under supervision. Assists with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of manufacturing software systems such as PanaCIM, iLNB, and DGS.

Responsibilities

Develops foundational skills in software deployment, documentation, and customer communication while contributing to continuous improvement and standardized methods that drive customer success and operational excellence.

SERVICE SUPPORT:
  • Assist in the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of Panasonic manufacturing software systems (PanaCIM, iLNB, DGS) at customer sites.
  • Carry out installation, modification, and repair activities under senior supervision, following approved standards and safety procedures.
  • Support configuration of Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu), SQL/PostgreSQL, and basic Docker environments.
  • Perform troubleshooting of application, network, and communication issues, escalating to senior engineers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system configurations, IP addressing, software versions, licenses, and hostIDs.
  • Create or update internal guides, diagrams, and customer documentation for implemented systems.
  • Support TAC and service requests as directed by senior engineers or management.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as travel logistics, expense reports, and site documentation on time and accurately.

SALES SUPPORT:
  • Participate in exhibitions and demonstrations of equipment at trade shows, PA demo room, or customer sites, informing customers and responding to technical and specification questions and concerns.
  • Identify sales opportunities and inform Sales as appropriate.

ADMIN & TRAINING:
  • Participate in onboarding, technical, and product-specific training to build implementation and troubleshooting capability.
  • Actively engage in mentorship opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Scope:
  • Works under direct supervision on well-defined assignments.
  • No budget or direct reports.
  • Focuses on developing technical, documentation, and customer service skills for future independent field work.

Education & Experience: Technical Degree Required.
  • Technical or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in networking, IT support, or software installation preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu), SQL/PostgreSQL, and network configuration.
  • Basic understanding of Docker or containerized applications preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ required or in progress.
  • SMT manufacturing or industrial software experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Builds reliability, teamwork, and service quality through consistent communication and follow-through.

Communications:
  • Communicates clearly with senior engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Produces accurate written reports and maintains professionalism during on-site or remote support.

Other Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting over 50 lbs (22.7 kg), standing for long periods on factory floors, and maneuvering in factory production environments and confined spaces to execute technical activities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (often 95 % or greater), domestically and internationally, often with very short notice, with flexible work hours, including non-standard business hours, weekends, and occasional holidays, as may be necessary to meet customer project schedules and demands.
  • Additional tasks as assigned and reviewed.
  • Willingness to relocate is a plus.

The salary range below is just one component of Panasonic Connect's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
