Sr. Director of AI & Data Science - Full-time
Location: Wayzata, MN (Relocation available) Seniority: Director level (leading a team of 16 Data Scientists) Travel: Occasional
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior business leaders to identify high-impact AI opportunities and drive measurable business value.
- Lead global AI & Data Science initiatives, shaping strategy, adoption, and responsible AI practices.
- Translate technical AI capabilities into compelling business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive modernization of processes, AI-driven decision-making, and efficiency improvements.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team of data scientists.
- Ensure AI/ML governance, risk management, and ethical use.
- Build external partnerships and alliances to strengthen AI adoption.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s in Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field (Master s/PhD preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in Data Science/AI, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Hands-on expertise with ML techniques (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning).
- Experience driving analytics adoption, business transformation, and AI strategy at scale.
- Strong executive communication skills and ability to influence non-technical leaders.
- Preferred: Experience with CI/CD, distributed computing, AWS, software development, and agriculture industry.
