Job Title: PSA Engineer DTS (Dispatcher Training Simulator)
Location: Remote (USA)
Hiring Mode: Contract
Summary: The PSA Engineer DTS will be responsible for administering, configuring, validating, and supporting Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) and Energy Management System (EMS) applications. The role involves model validation, defect resolution, system optimization, and deployment of fixes on live customer environments. The engineer will work closely with power system applications, real-time simulations, and EMS platforms to ensure high availability and operational reliability.
Must-Have Technical / Functional Skills:
- Administer and optimize Energy Management System (EMS) platforms through application configuration, tuning, and security patching, preferably on:
- GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS Platform Software
- EMS platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, or equivalent vendors
- Experience with:
- Simulated RTU
- Simulated IED
- Operator Consoles
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols and standards:
- ICCP
- IEC
- DNP3
- Modbus
- Expertise in Data Modeling, XML, and JSON
- Proficiency in both Linux and Windows operating environments
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as:
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Over 5 years of experience in Power System Applications, including:
- Power Flow
- State Estimator
- Contingency Analysis
- Load Frequency Control (AGC)
- Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS)
- Demonstrated expertise in model validation and event creation for DTS systems
- Experience with programming and scripting languages for system integration, including:
- C
- C++
- PERL or similar languages
- SQL
- Shell scripting
- Ability to read, interpret, and debug system logs and diagnostic files
- Proven experience in picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform model validation and defect fixing for the DTS system
- Execute necessary technical corrective actions to restore failed or failing technical services on EMS systems
- Conduct code reviews, deployment, testing, and monitoring of break/fix patches and system modifications
