Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Engineer to join Walmart s engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Android app development with Kotlin, hands-on experience with GraphQL integration, and proven success in building scalable and user-friendly mobile applications. Prior experience with Sam s Club or Walmart projects especially with Glass migration is a significant plus.
This role will specifically support the Sam s Glass Migration for PDP (Product Detail Page) initiative, focusing on Discovery and Personalization to enhance customer experience and drive seamless platform migration.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications in Kotlin using Android Studio.
Implement and optimize GraphQL integrations for data-driven mobile features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineers to deliver robust and scalable mobile solutions.
Contribute to the Sam s Discovery & Personalization initiatives and support Glass Migration for PDP.
Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Troubleshoot and fix bugs while improving application performance.
Follow best practices in mobile development, testing, and deployment.
Required Skills
3+ years of professional Android app development experience.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio.
Hands-on experience with GraphQL integration in mobile apps.
Solid understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Android applications.
Preferred Skills
Previous project experience with Walmart Inc. or Sam s Club, particularly in Glass migration initiatives.
Knowledge of eCommerce platforms and personalization/discovery systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools for Android app deployment.
