Job Title: IT PMO Analyst / Senior Data & Portfolio Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid 2 3 days onsite)
Role Summary
The IT PMO Analyst is responsible for portfolio-level reporting, KPI development, and data-driven insights to support executive decision-making across large-scale IT programs. This role partners closely with Project Managers, PMO leadership, finance, and business stakeholders to track project health, forecasts, risks, and financial performance using advanced analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) by collecting, validating, and analyzing project, portfolio, and financial data across multiple IT initiatives.
- Develop and maintain portfolio-level KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards covering project health, spend vs. forecast, milestones, risks, and delivery performance.
- Prepare executive-ready reports and insights for PMO leadership, project stakeholders, and senior management, tailoring outputs to different audiences.
- Coordinate project portfolio health reporting, including trend analysis for annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly performance reviews.
- Partner with Project Managers to consolidate and report Risks & Issues logs, ensuring timely visibility and escalation.
- Track and reconcile vendor invoices, spend, and budget consumption, supporting financial transparency and audit readiness.
- Design and automate self-service dashboards using Excel, Power BI, AWS QuickSight, Tableau, and ServiceNow to reduce manual reporting effort.
- Leverage SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques to integrate data from multiple enterprise systems and improve reporting accuracy.
- Support UAT and stakeholder validation of reports and dashboards; troubleshoot data discrepancies and reporting issues.
- Continuously improve PMO reporting processes through automation, standardization, and data quality enhancements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in IT PMO, Data Analysis, or Portfolio Reporting roles within large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience supporting IT project and portfolio management reporting, KPIs, and governance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros, dashboards).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or similar BI tools.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and reporting across multiple data sources.
- Experience with forecasting, budget tracking, vendor invoice reporting, and portfolio financial analysis.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
