Business Need

This role is needed to provide experienced quality assurance leadership and hands-on testing support for multiple applications where QA maturity varies and formal processes are still being established. The candidate will help ensure consistent, reliable testing practices while reducing risk to delivery timelines and production releases.

The position fills a critical gap by bringing in someone with demonstrated QA experience who can operate independently, make sound testing decisions, and provide structure, documentation, and guidance without requiring significant oversight. This role will directly support quality, stability, and accountability across active projects.

Project Deliverables

The candidate will be responsible for delivering both hands-on testing outputs and foundational QA artifacts, including but not limited to: Exploratory testing and functional validation of application features and workflows, Creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases, Development and refinement of test plans and master test plans Identification, documentation, and tracking of defects with clear reproduction steps, Recommendations for test coverage, risk areas, and testing priorities, Contribution to QA documentation standards and repeatable testing processes, Automation contributions may occur where appropriate, but are not the primary deliverable.

Project Milestones and Schedule

Target Start Date: February 2, 2026

Initial Assessment Period: First 30–45 days to assess current QA practices, application risk areas, and documentation gaps

Ongoing Deliverables: Continuous testing support aligned with sprint and release schedules

Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months

Qualifications and Skills

This role provides experienced, hands-on quality assurance support of application development and enhancement efforts. The candidate is expected to operate independently, apply sound QA judgement, and perform testing activities with minimal oversight. Responsibilities include exploratory testing, creation and maintenance of QA documentation, and contributing to improved testing practices in environments with typing levels of QA maturity.

Resume must clearly demonstrate the following:

Required Qualifications

·      Proven experience performing hands-on quality assurance testing in software applications

·      Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile testing practices

  • 3 + years of work experience with WCAG and Accessability Testing
  • CI/ CD Pipeline and Auomated Test Case Execution

·      Experience creating test cases, executing tests, and performing exploratory testing

·      Ability to develop or contribute to test plans and testing documentation

·      Demonstrated ability to identify risk areas and adjust testing depth accordingly

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills

·      Ability to provide guidance, direction, and informal coaching to less-experienced testers

·      Comfortable working in environments without fully established QA processes

     Preferred Qualifications

·      Experience with test automation tools or frameworks

·      Experience working on enterprise or government systems
