JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
< data-start="424" data-end="461">1. Waste Management & Sampling</>Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste sampling activities.
Coordinate waste shipments and ensure proper documentation, including classification of waste (hazardonon-hazardous).
Ensure all waste shipments occur within required regulatory timeframes.
Maintain accurate waste inventory both on-site and within internal systems.
Perform PCB wipe sampling and complete related regulatory reporting.
Maintain proper storage conditions for all drums and waste containers.
Coordinate and conduct drum swaps, ensuring all drums are accurately labeled.
Move drums safely using a hand-operated drum cart (approx. 50 pounds).
Oversee field waste handling practices to ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
Respond promptly to environmental emergencies, spills, or waste-related needs at job sites.
Order and manage inventory of environmental field supplies.
Track and restock supplies as needed to maintain uninterrupted operations.
Support special sampling initiatives such as suspect material testing or spill assessments.
Coordinate laboratory analytical testing and track results for all waste streams.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams as required.
Conduct various site inspections including Self Safety Inspections (SSI), self-assessments, and hazardous waste inspections.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience in waste management, environmental sampling, or Resource Recovery Specialist level activities.
Knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste classification, regulatory timelines, and documentation requirements.
Ability to safely move and handle drums (approx. 50 lbs) using a drum cart.
Familiarity with PCB sampling procedures and environmental reporting requirements.
Experience with waste storage standards, field environmental compliance, and spill response.
Strong ability to maintain inventory, manage supplies, and track analytical results.
Ability to perform site inspections and identify compliance issues.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to emergent site issues.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree or bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (preferred).
Equivalent military, field operations, or environmental compliance experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
HAZWOPER certification (strongly preferred).
OSHA, RCRA, or environmental compliance certifications are a plus.
