Position: GIS Developer
Duration: 4 Months
Location: Richmond, VA(Remote)
Responsibilities:
Defines system architecture, networking, and storage configurations for two ArcGIS Enterprise instances (Staging and Production) consistent with best practices for environment isolation and high availability.
Reviews recommended and necessary licensing & hardware requirements for the proposed Staging and Production ArcGIS Enterprise instances, including but not limited to:
o Server sizing and configuration options for high availability
o Ports and firewalls requirements
o Discuss required and recommended Esri licensing needed in order to accomplish desired GIS workflows (branch versioning, multi-user editing via Portal, required user types, licensing for staging versus production environments, etc.)
o Defines backup and disaster recovery strategies for both ArcGIS Enterprise instances.
o Performs an installation and initial configuration of two instances of ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 or higher on Commonwealth servers consistent with the defined architecture.
o Creates and maintains detailed logical ArcGIS Enterprise design diagrams listing servers, ports, databases, and other necessary architectural elements to support the new ArcGIS implementations.
o Designs and manages geospatial data infrastructure to ensure data integrity and interoperability.
o Automates deployment and maintenance of GIS environments using scripting tools such as Python (ArcPy) and Powershell
o Provides technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to GIS analysts interested in learning more about ArcGIS Enterprise administration and monitoring.
o Develop and optimize geospatial databases, services, and applications.
o Discuss required and recommended user accounts (administration, service, users, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
8 Years Bachelor s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in GIS architecture and deployment, preferably in Microsoft / Azure environments.
8 Years Proven experience designing and deploying ArcGIS Enterprise in multi-environment configurations.
8 Years Proficiency in DNS, port assignment, and firewall policy management related to ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Enterprise.
8 Years Proficiency using Python (ArcPy, Pandas) and SQL for ArcGIS management and automation.
8 Years Demonstrated experience with geodatabase design and spatial analysis.
8 Years Familiarity with GIS web services (REST, SOAP) and APIs.
8 Years Familiarity with Esri s current licensing and user type structure for ArcGIS Enterprise.
8 Years Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
8 Years Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills:
8 Years ESRI-certified Enterprise System Design Professional (ESDP2201).
8 Years Familiarity using System Designer, ArcGIS Monitor, System Log Parser, and eGDB Health to monitor ArcGIS Enterprise deployments.
8 Years Experience with DevOps practices for GIS application deployment.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, Beacon Gov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
