Network Engineer

Marcum Search is working with a law firm in downtown NYC to find a Network Engineer with at least 5 years of hands on Network and Security engineering experience to join their team.

This is a senior level position to manage and maintain the firm's Data Center Technologies, including the network and security infrastructure and some elements of systems engineering.
Network Engineer must have strong hands on experience

• Configuring LAN/WAN/Switches/Firewalls/VPN and network infrastructure- Cisco and Palo Alto hardware are REQUIRED.
• Data Center Infrastructure design and implementation
• Disaster Recovery site and cloud (Azure) design and implementation
• Configuring firewall access policies / IPSec following security best practices
• Administering VMWare and SRM to support High Availability and Disaster Recovery

Additional requirements include

• Enterprise Storage design, implementation, and management
• Experience with management of Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Purview, Intune, Exchange Online, and other Microsoft cloud technologies.
• Experience managing messaging infrastructure and all its components including Exchange Server, Exchange Online, mail security and gateways.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting AD Directory Services, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and Group Policies

Key responsibilities include

• Identify, prioritize, and resolve critical network related issues that impact business operations.
• Evaluates new technologies and platforms
• Ensures firm s network, virtualization and storage infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements, in on-premises datacenters and cloud infrastructure.
• Provides escalation support to troubleshoot and resolve business impacting issues.
• Monitors and reports the performance of network components against KPIs and takes preemptive measures to minimize interruptions.
• Proactively communicate solutions to network or datacenter related issues and preferred emerging technologies
• Optimize systems with redundancy and resilience by leveraging a DR site and/or cloud services.
• Promote best practices in Change Control and IT Security.

Target Salary range: $150-200k depending on experience.
