Position Summary
One of the world's leading private cybersecurity software and professional services companies is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic and growing professional services engineering team. In this role, you will provide dedicated support to a single customer, navigating both the rewarding and challenging aspects of this position.
Certifications: Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, Symantec
Your responsibilities will include independently troubleshooting and resolving a variety of database issues. While you will have the support of an experienced DBA team, we are looking for a self-starter who can effectively manage multiple tasks and maintain proactive, clear communication with both the customer and management.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of supporting medium-to-large-scale Oracle databases. This position is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in a role that values initiative, collaboration, and excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesWe believe in transparency and providing a clear understanding of our roles. Below are the key tasks you'll be responsible for:

Maintain and troubleshoot pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments

Perform Oracle Database upgrades and apply patches as needed

Regularly validate Oracle 19c backup and recovery operations using RMAN
-
Monitor and resolve Oracle database performance issues
-
Provide on-demand support for database-related concerns, collaborating with Oracle support for unresolved issues when necessary
-
Act as the first line of support, working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to address onsite product challenges

Monitor and optimize the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters, leveraging tools such as Grafana to track system metrics

Analyze system logs to proactively address potential issues before they escalate

Develop and present detailed software deployment plans

Communicate daily with customers and management, providing comprehensive activity summaries and trip reports when applicable

Occasionally travel (10% or less) to customer COOP site locations in Virginia and Mississippi

Assist with physical hardware tasks, such as lifting, racking, and cabling, as needed

Perform additional duties as assigned
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

An active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility within the past two years
-
A Bachelor's Degree in: Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and professional experience

At least one certification under the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program at IAT Level II or higher
-
The ability to obtain appropriate work authorizations as required by U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable government agency

A minimum of 8 years of experience performing the tasks outlined in the 'Key Responsibilities' section

Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GovCloud, or Google Cloud

Experience working with N-Tier architecture

Experience with Java application servers

Oracle Certifications, such as OCA, OCP, and OCM
