Technical Integration Architect
Pay Rate: $62.00 to $83.00 per Hour
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6-month contract- Is there potential for extension? Yes
Shift: M-F 1st Shift flexible

Notes:

  • Must be W-2 employee NO C2C
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
  • Location: Hybrid, at least 3 days on site

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Integration Architect to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integration solutions that connect our diverse systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Cloud technologies and a strong background in higher education IT ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise integration architectures that connect various systems across campus (Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, CRM, ERP, etc.)
  • Lead the development of integration patterns, practices, and standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability
  • Evaluate and recommend integration tools, platforms, and approaches that align with institutional goals and technical strategy
  • Create detailed technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for integration projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams working on integration projects
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data governance requirements specific to higher education
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in system integration and Azure Cloud services
  • Develop and maintain documentation for integration architecture, processes, and standards
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate integration approaches before full implementation
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration solutions to ensure reliability and performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on integration architecture
  • 3+ years of experience working in higher education IT environments
  • Strong expertise in Azure Cloud platform, including Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, and Azure Service Bus
  • Experience with iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) solutions
  • Proficiency in designing REST APIs, SOAP web services, and event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of common higher education systems (Banner, Workday, Canvas, ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience with data integration patterns, ETL processes, and middleware technologies
  • Familiarity with industry standards like IMS Global, PESC, or similar higher education data standards
  • Strong understanding of identity management and authentication systems (Azure AD, SAML, OAuth)
  • Experience implementing DevOps practices for integration solutions
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy requirements in higher education (FERPA, GDPR)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications in Azure (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Integration and Developer Associate)
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Snowflake
  • Knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Ellucian Ethos, Informatica, Kafka, or similar integration platforms
  • Background in systems implementation within a large, complex higher education institution
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools
  • Knowledge of student success initiatives and related data integration requirements
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
