Job Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer 4 – Cyber AI (Security & Agentic Workflows)

Location: Charlotte and Minneapolis (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week)

Duration: 24 months contract

 Overview

The Cyber AI organization is expanding its Product & Discovery team and is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Engineer 4) with strong security mindset and hands-on experience building AI-driven workflows. This team operates at the forefront of secure AI innovation—designing, evaluating, and deploying agentic and intelligent systems that support cyber defense strategy.

This role is ideal for an engineer who can ramp up quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and contribute to discovery-stage work shaping next-generation cybersecurity capabilities.

 Must have:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong Python and Java
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Vector retrieval
    • Embeddings
    • RAG pipelines
  • Background in secure systems or cybersecurity
  • Experience building or integrating agent-based AI workflows

 Nice to have:

  • Vector DBs: Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate
  • LLM application design and prompt workflows
  • Cloud and distributed systems experience
  • Cybersecurity or Threat Intelligence background

 What You’ll Do

Core Engineering (80%)

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and components supporting Cyber AI workflows.
  • Develop secure, scalable systems using Python and Java.
  • Integrate and optimize vector retrieval technologies (vector DBs, embeddings, RAG methods).
  • Build, test, and refine agentic workflows in partnership with Product, Solutions, and Framework teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across distributed systems, security tooling, and AI-enabled components.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, solutioning, and long-term technical strategy.

 AI & Workflow Innovation (20%)

  • Apply practical GenAI experience to build or enhance agentic workflows supporting cybersecurity use cases.
  • Collaborate with Product & Discovery to evaluate new AI-driven opportunities and validate feasibility.
  • Identify challenges, edge cases, and risks associated with AI implementations in security environments.
  • Work on early-stage prototypes and iterate quickly based on findings.

 Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python and Java.
  • Experience with vector retrieval, embeddings, or RAG pipelines.
  • Background supporting secure systems, cybersecurity products, or security-focused development.
  • Demonstrated experience building or integrating agentic workflows.
  • Proven ability to ramp quickly and contribute in complex engineering environments.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, etc.).
  • Familiarity with LLM application design and prompt-based workflows.
  • Exposure to cloud environments, API design, and distributed computing.
  • Prior work in Cybersecurity, Threat Intelligence, or Security Engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Product, Solutions, and Framework teams.
