Job Title: Network Engineer
Rate: $45/hour W2
Work Location: Centennial, CO


Job Summary:
Responsible for participating in projects related to deployments, decommission, and migrations of critical facility network, server, storage, backup, and security devices. Support new product implementations, assisting with existing products and services, and the overall management of devices and relationships of syndication data centers.
Provides solutions architecture of projects and works directly with vendors, suppliers, project managers, critical facilities, and cross-functional team leaders. Provides support to product teams during hardware deployments and identifies probable root cause; provides trouble isolation, advanced troubleshooting, and RMA activities.

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Serves as team member in a specific job function and collaborates with other leads to facilitate a deployment team to effectively & efficiently deploy, decommission, and migrate hardware.
  2. Drives or assists in the coordination and technical project management of team workload, including change control, resolution of stakeholder issues, resources, schedules, and timelines to ensure that implementation is on track for overall project success and reporting.
  3. Escalation point of contact for layer one leadership, technical assistance, and hardware deployment support.
  4. Develops, maintains, and oversees MOPs for installations and maintenance of critical facilities and structured cable plant.
  5. Experience placing devices in cabinets using on KW availability, physical space, cooling, port availability, structured cable plant, and application device requirements.
  6. Experience on how equipment shall be placed within the cabinet initiated with hot-cold orientation to effectively manage the thermal environment and maximize device specifications and capabilities.
  7. Experience on full life cycle of install & decom processes of rack-mountable equipment (servers, switches, storage, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices) in headend and data center environment.
  8. Creates design specifications and works directly with vendor(s) for RFP quotations for infrastructure and deployment staff.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Manage rack, stack, power, and cabling of equipment within the critical facility.
  2. Interface with vendors to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and decommission related equipment.
  3. Maintain and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and day-to-day capacity requirements.
  4. Streamline Methods and Procedures for daily operational effectiveness.
  5. Manage DCIM environment for accuracy (cable running lists and records of deployed equipment).
  6. Inventory management of copper, fiber, and power cords with little to no guidance.
  7. Responsible for the logistics of shipping/receiving hardware to critical facility using warehouse tools.
  8. Provide risk and quality assessments of deployment project plans.
  9. Available 24/7 via phone.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Experience in deployment and installation of switches, routers, and servers.
  • Experience in High-Speed Data, Voice, IP, and Data Networking.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of power generation and power distribution including facility and cabinet-based PDUs, ATSs, and UPSs.
  • Diverse knowledge of Power & HVAC data center dynamics.
  • Proven experience to effectively plan project installations and forecast infrastructure growth—including deployment accuracy, ordering supplies, maintaining inventory control, and documenting processes.
  • Basic knowledge of all current types of networking and server hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting & developing policies and procedures.
  • Proven project management, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with vendors, employees, and management.
  • Effective leadership skills to resolve conflicts and retain high morale.
  • Good personal computer skills.
  • Some travel may be required.
