In this role, you'll evaluate and advance emerging technology for the material handling industry while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. We value innovative and creative ideas-yes, even during meetings (where snacks are always welcome). If you enjoy tackling challenges with positivity and a bit of humor, you'll feel right at home here.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Identify and research emerging technologies in perception, AI, automation, energy, and operator assistance.
  • Collaborate with local and international teams to assess new technologies' feasibility and industry impact.
  • Develop proof-of-concept prototypes with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate new concepts and algorithms, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
  • Evaluate data and performance metrics to determine the effectiveness of new technologies.
  • Remain informed on industry advancements and contribute to intellectual property through patents and publications.
  • Communicate research findings and project updates through reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Drive innovation by proposing novel ideas and solutions to industry challenges.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of industry research experience applying engineering principles to develop and advance new technologies.
  • Broad engineering expertise with the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative, adaptable mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for learning and contributing to innovative research in the material handling industry.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Science.
  • Research experience in robotics, automation, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Working knowledge of IT and network systems for seamless technology implementation.
  • Hands-on approach with a proactive mindset in designing, building, and testing prototypes.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop business cases and advocate for new ideas.
  • Experience in the material handling industry.

Where and When You'll Work:
  • This is an in-person role located at our Greene, New York office-ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary - $98,200 - $113,100 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.

World Class Benefits:

  • Affordable Medical plans and no-cost Dental & Vision options
  • 100% 401(k) match up to 6%
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability
  • Tuition Assistance Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to mental health care, legal support, and financial guidance
