The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of Senior Software Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technical Product Managers. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to deliver high-impact software solutions aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate excels at balancing hands-on technical guidance with the mentorship and development of their team members, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Team Leadership & Management
Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Senior Software Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technical Product Managers.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative team culture that encourages
growth and high engagement.
Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and manage performance and
professional development for all direct reports.
Technical Oversight
Provide technical direction, code reviews, and architectural guidance to ensure
scalable, reliable, and maintainable software.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends; recommend and implement best practices.
Collaborate with engineering leads to drive technical excellence and adoption of modern software development methodologies.
Main Responsibilities
Manages technical relationships with assigned vendors, including driving
features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases.
Product & Project Management
Work closely with Technical Product Managers to define product vision,
roadmap, and requirements.
Translate business objectives into actionable technical projects, ensuring clear
alignment between engineering and product teams.
Oversee project delivery, manage priorities, and remove blockers to ensure timely and high-quality software releases.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with stakeholders across Product, Design, QA, and Operations to ensure end-to-end delivery of solutions.
Facilitate effective communication between engineering, product management, and other departments.
Operational Excellence
Champion Agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to improve
efficiency, transparency, and team accountability.
Track team metrics, report progress, and continuously seek opportunities to
optimize processes and workflows.
Manage budgets, resources, and capacity planning for your team.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. - Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or in a computer programming related field. (Required)
- 4-7 years Experience in an Analytics and Business Intelligence development environment. Required
- Less than 2 years Experience in managing or supervising a team of 15 developers or more. Required

- Mentorship & Team Development (Required) Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing engineers at all career levels, conducting code reviews, and creating growth opportunities for direct reports.
- Cross Functional Collaboration (Required) Worked closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and stakeholders to refine requirements, scope technical solutions, and deliver business value.
- Scaling & Performance (Required) Optimized, refactored, and scaled systems to support rapid growth, high performance, and resilience, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Security & Performance (Required) Applied secure development practices, code quality standards, and led efforts to improve maintainability, documentation, and automated testing.
- Product Launches (Required) Major features or products from concept to production, including coordinating launches, rollouts, and customer feedback cycles.
- Change Mangement (Required) Led teams through technical migrations, stack upgrades, or process changes while maintaining business continuity.
- Telco Biling Systems (Preferred) Experience in highly regulated or large-scale environments (telecom, fintech, health tech). Background in data-driven development, analytics, or machine learning. Experience with APIs, integrations, or platform engineering. Exposure to UX/UI design collaboration and user-centered development.
