Workday HCM Consultant / Only w2
Remote/ PST Hours
Duration: 21 months/ Contract
Responsibilities/Scope:
· Serve as the primary Workday HCM system administrator, performing configuration, testing, and maintenance across multiple modules.
· Lead or support large-scale transitions, data loads, and FDM retrofit efforts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and minimal disruption.
· Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and HRIS leadership to coordinate changes and deployments across a 9-member HRIS team and wider HR organization.
· Act as a consultative partner, proactively identifying configuration and process optimization opportunities rather than waiting for assigned tasks.
· Deliver and maintain technology solutions to support business processes and data reporting needs.
· Contribute to development of data standards, documentation, and configuration governance.
· Liaise with vendors and internal IT teams to support ongoing system initiatives and performance improvement.
· Support and train users as needed to ensure smooth adoption and understanding of system changes.
· Mentor and coach peers to promote shared technical knowledge and team growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years of direct Workday HCM experience, including hands-on configuration and system administration.
· Proven success supporting large enterprise environments, ideally within healthcare or unionized organizations.
· Strong background in data migration, EIB loads, and deployment transitions.
· Experience across additional Workday modules is a plus (e.g., Compensation, Security, Reporting).
· Familiarity with Smartsheet and Jira preferred but trainable.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong analytical and pragmatic problem-solving mindset; able to work autonomously and consultatively.
Nice to Have:
Workday certification is a plus but not required.
