Description
Currently Sunday thru Thursday 3pm-11pm but this may change.
In the role of Senior NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for more advanced network monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Building on the foundational skills you have developed; this position demands a deeper understanding of the clients network infrastructure. You will independently manage routine network operations, perform more complex system administration tasks such as advanced troubleshooting and patch management, and develop scripts to automate repetitive processes. As a Senior NOC Engineer, you will also serve as a key escalation point for Tier 1 and 2 engineers, offering guidance and resolving issues that require a higher level of technical knowledge. Your role involves proactive involvement in network optimization projects and a greater focus on identifying and implementing mitigation strategies. Additionally, you may be tasked with conducting training sessions for less experienced team members and contributing to the development of operational procedures.

Conduct Event/Incident Management following established processes and procedures.
Proficient in alarm management and network monitoring processes & procedures.
Create and triage trouble tickets, including remote testing.
Open tickets with carriers and escalate as required until resolution.

Dispatch or assist FOPS and OSP as needed to resolve network and customer issues.
Coordinate & lead repair efforts for major/complex fiber cuts & other network-impacting events.
Update trouble tickets and escalate to carriers and workgroups until resolution.
Competent in multiple technical disciplines related to voice, data, and transport.

Carry out additional duties as assigned by the NOC Management team.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Develop and conduct training programs within the repair organization.

Open and manage TAC cases with vendors as needed.
Create MOPs and coordinate with Change Management for break-fix issues.
Regularly manage escalated tickets and support "NOC Engineer I and II's" with technical questions.

Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required. Vendor certifications preferred (Cisco, Ciena, Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia, etc.)
Experience: At least 6 years professional level Engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience preferred.
Key Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with customers, management, and team members. Able to prioritize in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54.00 - $54.00/hr.
