job summary:

Conduct hands-on testing with assistive technologies to ensure our applications meet our internal mobile accessibility guidelines (Voiceover, Voice Control, Dynamic Type)


Consult with development teams on findings from hands-on testing to find fixes to accessibility issues


Train developers on automated accessibility tools


Accessibility research into new accessible patterns, gestures, and UI components


Help build out accessible monitoring solutions to track accessibility at scale.

responsibilities:

    • 4+ years of professional experience developing applications in iOS, specifically SwiftUI based applications
    • Experience working in a team of iOS developers participating in code reviews, pull requests, and pair programming.
    • Fluency in Swift object-oriented and/or functional programming from industry working experience
    • Working experience with debugging and supporting of mobile applications written in Swift
  • Experience in agile methodologies (SCRUM)
  • Self-driven to learn and implement new accessible technologies
  • Familiarity with accessibility API's, semantic markup in native development
  • Bonus:
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies in iOS (Voiceover, Voice Control, etc)
  • Practical usage of assistive technologies to test for common accessibility issues

Strong experience with SwiftUI and iOS Development


A user-first mindset and curiosity about how people interact with technology


Comfort with iterative testing, debugging, and consulting based on testing results


A desire to learn new technologies


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Helping to ensure our mobile applications are accessible for all different types of users


Accessibility testing results that are consumable for our squads


Building out complex accessibility solutions in iOS
